This is a really strong perspective, especially the idea of work-life presence. That part stood out to me.
I do think there’s truth in what you’re saying about self-awareness and intentionality playing a role. At the same time, I think for a lot of people, the environment they’re in also impacts what’s actually possible.
So it feels like a mix of both internal responsibility and external reality.
Thank you for reading and commenting. I appreciate it.
Environment does play an important role in what people think or see is possible; however, developing that self-awareness and intentionality will help people assess whether their environment is helping or hindering.
For instance, if you’re in a workplace that rewards or promotes lack of boundaries, then a decision might need to be made there about whether to stay or to go.
But if you’re self-employed with complete control over your calendar and your environment, then that’s definitely an internal thing to be responsible for.
I think a lot of people become aware of their environment, but stay because of comfort, fear, or timing. So it’s not just about recognizing what isn’t working, it’s about being willing to respond to it. Great piece and take.
Strong take. Presence and intention really change the game 💙
